Dedicated Servers have always been the low-key cool kids with nerdy street cred. Dave Boutdy (Dave The Fave) and Matt Dixon (MCMD) met in sophomore biology and quickly bonded over a love of Star Wars, video games, and Hip-Hop.

"I said, 'You're too cool to sit here; I'm a nerd.' Dave responded, 'I'm into nerd stuff too.' so I asked him where Luke Skywalker was from." - Matt Dixon

After high school, Dixon and Boutdy began making music together in Dixon's apartment closet. Writing rhymes full of references to the culture that sparked their friendship, Dedicated Servers soon became nerd-core royalty. Although the duo tried not to pigeonhole themselves, being true to the spirit of Hip Hop meant staying vigilantly authentic to themselves.

While movies and video games are still a mainstay of the group's sound, the past 20 years have also brought new relationships, heartbreak, marriage, family, and children, evolving Dedicated Servers' rhymes into relatable snippets of life. That evolution continued with the addition of Xander Rodriguez (Spin Master Mugen) five years ago. Rodriguez's samplings of Jazz and Funk have opened up the group's sound even further and inspired Dixon and Boutdy to draw from genres like Rock and K-pop.

All of this has culminated in the trio's new album, "Colors," set to release on April 11th. A Future Funk and House-inspired summer soundtrack infused with Pop sensibility, the album is a concerted effort to create a collection of lighthearted, danceable tracks.

"I want people to feel good when they hear what we've created." - Dave Boutdy.

After 12 albums and multiple solo projects, the trio has no plans to slow down. A sequel to "Colors" is already in the works and touring isn't far behind.

"I want to take DS to Japan." - Xander Rodriguez.

While Dedicated Servers are ready to open a new chapter, their goals remain the same: make one another laugh, entertain as much as possible, and stay authentic.
