Where's Your Passion? is a record built on curiosity, honesty, and a refusal to chase expectations. Originally conceived as the solo project of songwriter and producer Ryan Elliott, Payette has since grown into a full band. While Elliott remains the primary songwriter, Where's Your Passion? reflects the collaborative spirit of the band's current lineup, with each member helping shape the album into what it became.

Sonically, the record lives in the space between careful and chaotic. Layered synthesizers and sequenced rhythms form the architectural bones, while chorused guitars drift through the upper registers like signal from a distant station. Then, just when it settles into something comfortable, the band pulls the floor out. Distorted passages and gritty textures cut through to remind you that pretty things have edges. Fans of Mac DeMarco and Kevin Parker will find familiar textures in the production, but the record never feels weighed down by its influences.

Lyrically, Where's Your Passion? turns inward. Elliott has always been interested in the weight of human connection, how hard it is to hold onto and how much it costs when you can't. These twelve songs approach that theme from multiple angles. Some are playful and inventive. Others carry something heavier beneath the melody. That push and pull gives the record its momentum. It doesn't try to tie everything up neatly. It simply lets the songs breathe.

At its heart, Where's Your Passion? is about making music without compromise. It's personal, reflective, and shaped by a group of musicians who share the same vision. The result is a record that feels intimate without ever feeling small.
